Pelvic floor muscles may become weak or lose tone most commonly due to aging, menopause, or childbirth. This may lead to discomfort, change in sexual function, or problems with urination. Pelvic floor muscle retraining uses exercises to strengthen the pelvic muscles, and may be guided by a physiotherapist.
Our multi-disciplinary team specializes in pelvic floor investigations such as pelvic floor manometry and evidence-based therapy offered only at Southern Alberta Surgical Center. We create a specialized rehabilitation program involving internal and external assessment and treatment of your pelvic floor muscles. Please contact us for more information.
